Choice Based Credit System
The Choice based credit system is introduced in the curriculum of UG & PG courses offered by the Alagappa University from the academic year 2006 onwards.
The Basic aims of the system
To offer flexibility in the choice of courses to students
To enable a student to do a given course at his convenient pace in time.
To offer mobility of a student from one degree programme to another in the same university
Evaluation System
The current system of evaluation is based on the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) guidelines given by the Alagappa University.
The two components of evaluation are
- CIA (Continuous Internal Assessment) = 25%
- ESE (End Semester Examinations) = 75%

Assignment & Seminar Attendance
A student who is absent for a test on medical grounds, has to apply to the Principal, through the Head of the department for special permission to write retest.
End Semester Examinations (ESE)
The date of the commencement of the End Semester Examinations schedule given by the Alagappa University. A copy of the time table will be displayed on the notice board
Aggregate pass minimum
- UG = 40%
- PG = 50%
- Late submission of application forms & fee for examination will not be permitted. For all examinations, the students’ should posses Identity Card and Hall Ticket compulsory.
