Objectives

The Anti-Drug Club is a proactive initiative aimed at creating awareness, preventing drug abuse, and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among our students.

Outcome

Students benefit from joining anti-drug clubs as they provide education on the risks of substance abuse, offer a supportive community to discuss concerns, promote advocacy for drug-free lifestyles, foster personal development through leadership and teamwork, contribute to prevention efforts via awareness campaigns, and empower students to influence their peers positively, thereby creating a healthier school and community environment overall.

The objective of this committee is to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student.

  • To be vigilant at all hours all around the campus and other places vulnerable to incidents of, and having the potential of, ragging and shall be empowered to inspect such places.
  • To make surprise raids on hostels, and other places vulnerable to incidents and having the potential for ragging.
  • To conduct an on-the-spot enquiry into any incident of ragging referred to it by the faculty or student or parent or guardian, as the case may be: and the enquiry report along with recommendations shall be submitted to the Head of the Institution for action.
  • To ensure the display of posters on Institution and Department Notice Boards and other prominent designated places.
  • To offer services of counseling and create awareness to the students.

The College Discipline Committee is constituted for the maintenance of discipline in the college. The committee will ensure that students obey rules and remain orderly and peaceful in the pursuant of educational objectives/goals in the college community.

  • To maintain and enforce strict discipline within the college campus.
  • All the students should wear their ID Cards while they are in the campus and in their respective class rooms.
  • To enforce total prohibition of cell phone usage by the students within the college campus.
  • To ensure that all the students attend classes properly.
  • To ensure that students maintain complete silence in the library.
  • To maintain proper discipline in the college canteen and students waiting room during the college working hours.
  • To assist the college anti-ragging committee in preventing ragging in the College and to spread anti-ragging campaign throughout the student’s community.


The Examination committee is an apex body of the Institute which is headed by Examinations In-Charge (EI) and shall be facilitated by three sections: Examination, Record Maintenance and Administration. The main function of this Committee is to carry out examinations, publish results and award certificates (provided by the University and Institute) to the students who pass the final examinations. Keeping the record of each and every issue related to the examination and organizing workshops and seminars for the improvement of the examination system are also the responsibilities of this Committee.

  • The Exam Cell shall distribute the Exam Forms of the University to regular students and collect them back after having them duly filled in.
  • The Exam Cell shall put up notice inviting students to have the exam form collected and returned in due time.
  • The Examination Committee shall prepare relevant time tables for our College based on the Examination Time Table.
  • The Examination Committee shall make the Block and Seating Arrangement and display them on the concerned Notice Board/Website and Blocks.
  • The Exam Committee shall prepare and display an overall Supervision Duty List as well as Daily Supervision Duty on the Staff Notice.


Objectives

To spread the awareness about Gender sensitization in and around Sivagangai • Discuss the truths of the mutual respects of all the genders pertaining to the society.


Responsibilities

Gender champions are designated in all educational institutions across the country to promote gender equality and to change the mode of interaction at all levels such as home, schools, colleges, universities, workplaces, etc. The champions will facilitate an enabling environment within their colleges where girls are treated with dignity and respect. The purpose of gender champions, is to engage young boys and girls to challenge and shift gender norms. The student representatives are selected as gender champions on the basis of their intelligence, decisiveness and honesty, which are absolutely essential qualities of a leader. Overview of Gender champions Club

Gender champion Scheme Implementation Committee organized a gender champion selection day on 27, September 2023. UGC has issued guidelines to make the young boys & girls gender sensitive & create positive social norms that value the girls and their rights in their campus and to select responsible leaders who will facilitate an integrated & interdisciplinary approach, understanding the socio-cultural constructions of gender that shape the experience of women & men in society. Approximately 25 Students from various departments have participated enthusiastically in the event. They registered themselves for the Gender Champion Scheme. Activity begun with welcome speech of Dr.Rathi Devi.P, Nodal Officer, Gender Champion Scheme, She shared the significance of the event with students and also motivated them to participate in upcoming events. Students were given a mock interview and scrutinized for final personal interview. All the students participated enthusiastically and the following two students were selected as Gender Champions of our College.

An Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in a college is a committee that deals with complaints of sexual harassment and other issues related to women on campus. The ICC is established under the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The ICC's objectives include:

In pursuance of its Action Plan for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up-gradation of institutions of higher education, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore proposes that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system and work towards realisation of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.
